LPBC Annual Meeting – Election of officers, etc. (October 1, 2015 @ 11:30)

Our annual meeting is where we elect the LPBC’s officers and deal with other issues of importance to our membership.

This meeting will take place an hour before our regularly scheduled lunch.

If you are a registered Libertarian you get to vote in our elections, constitution, and bylaw matters.  All our board meetings are open to the public, though.

Our current board will be running for reelection.  Cate Lawrence will be running for an open Board seat.

If you wish to run for an LPBC board position and/or have a matter for the Board, please let me know and I will put it on our agenda.

Bitcoin & Programmable Society

Charles Hoskinson will be talking about how cryptography and technologies similar to Bitcoin can revolutionize a variety of human interactions like (1) contracts, (2) a way/place to store data that is resistant to government meddling, (3) using spare computer capacity to generate profits from the aggregation of “microtransactions”, (4) a world without the need for multiple passwords, (5) etc.

Charles Hoskinson is a Colorado based technology entrepreneur and mathematician. His professional experience includes founding three Bitcoin related start-ups- Invictus Innovations, Ethereum and Input Output HK- and a variety of colorful positions in the public and private sector. He was the founding chairman of the Bitcoin Foundation’s education committee and established the not for profit Cryptocurrency Research Group in September of 2013.

His current projects focus on education of cryptocurrency topics, evangelism of decentralization and making cryptographic tools easier to use for the mainstream.
