Minutes of Board Meeting on September 25, 2013

The meeting was called to order by the Chair at 7:00pm.

 

The Agenda was read and approved.

 

Ralph Shnelvar moved, and Randy Luallin seconded a motion that Bill Gibson, as Treasurer, have access to the bank account of the Libertarian Party of Boulder County with authority to make deposits and withdrawals for purposes that are approved by the Board . The motion was passed unanimously.

 

Bill Gibson moved and Eva Kosinski seconded a motion that Ralph Shnelvar  have access to the Pay Pal account of the Libertarian Party of Boulder County with authority to use the account for purposes that are approved by the Board. The motion was passed unanimously.

 

Bill Gibson gave a Treasurers’ report and it was accepted, without exception.

 

Nathan Grabau reported that he has increased, “Facebook” outreach activities since the last meeting of the Board. He also reported that the Libertarian Party of Boulder County had been chosen, as one of five counties in Colorado, for participation in the Libertarian National Campaigns Committee’s County Development and Enhancement Program and he volunteered to participate on behalf of the Libertarian Party of Boulder County.

 

Ralph Shnelvar, as Chair, reported that 1) the Libertarian lunch continues to grow, and 2) much more work is needed to redo the Party’s website and that he had decided to settle on WordPress as the website’s CMS. He also informed the Board that he was seeking a volunteer  to serve as a WordPress webmaster and as Parliamentarian.

 

Ralph Shnelvar moved that the Party’s bylaws be amended to include that, “Any person under the age of eighteen may be elected as a Board member and, if so elected, shall be a voting member of the Board with all rights and responsibilities thereto.” The motion was seconded by Bill Gibson and was passed unanimously.

 

Ralph Shnelvar moved that, “at the discretion of the Chair, future meetings of the Board shall be recorded by electronic device and that such recording may be accessible to Board members only. “ The motion was seconded and passed.

 

Bill Gibson moved that Ralph Shnelvar be elected as Chair of the Libertarian Party of Boulder County for a term as provided in the Party’s bylaws. The motion was seconded by Eva Kosinski and was passed.

 

Ralph Shnelvar moved that Bill Gibson be elected as Treasurer of the Libertarian Party of Boulder County for a term as provided in the Party’s bylaws. The motion was seconded by Jim Remmert and was passed.

 

Ralph Shnelvar moved the Jim Remmert be elected as Secretary of the Libertarian Party of Boulder County for a term as provided in the Party’s bylaws. The motion was seconded by Bill Gibson and was passed.

 

Ralph Shnelvar moved that the next meeting of the Board be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 @6:00 pm at the China Panda Restaurant, 301 Main Street, Number 5, Longmont, Colorado 80501. The motion was seconded by Jim Remmert and was passed.

 

The meeting of the Board adjourned at 8:00pm
