Clela Rorex

Clela Rorex has agreed to speak to us on May 15. I’m very excited about it and you should be, too. Read on.

Do you know this woman?  (The man standing next to her is me.)

If you don’t know this woman, you should.  She’s one of my heroes: the above-mentioned Clela Rorex.40 years ago Ms. Rorex was the Boulder County Clerk. She was also one of the first Clerks in the U.S. to issue marriage licenses to gay couples.

I met Ms. Rorex a few days ago at a party celebrating the 1st year of civil unions in Colorado.Ms. Rorex has written to me, in part, the following:
Would be glad to speak to your group – as an activist ally for Gay rights.

And, yes, she knows she’s talking to a group of libertarians and, yes, she knows I’m running against the current Clerk, Hillary Hall.
Please send an RSVP.  I have booked the back room at Carelli’s (location at the bottom of this post) but I, nonetheless, expect seating to go quickly.

Picking up women

The title of this section is, probably, a really really bad idea.

Our very own Cate Lawrence will be talking to us this week (May 8) about how to talk to women voters in a way that will motivate and not offend.

Trust me, I’ll be listening carefully.

I may even end up changing the title of this section.
